Eric Omondi, the renowned Kenyan comedian, was recently honored by the National Council of Community-Based Organizations (NCBOC) for his outstanding philanthropic contributions. The event, held at Serena Hotel, celebrated individuals and organizations making a significant impact in their communities.
Omondi attended the ceremony with his fiancée, Lynne Njihia, who praised him for his unwavering commitment to helping those in need.
Dressed in a sharp brown double-breasted suit, Eric took to the stage with humility and gratitude as he accepted the prestigious “Humanitarian of the Year” award.
In his heartfelt speech, he acknowledged the crucial role Kenyans have played in his mission to change lives and dedicated the award to them.
“TEAM SISI KWA SISI, YOU DID IT!!! Yesterday was a Great Day! We won Humanitarian of the Year at the National Council of Community-Based Organizations at Serena Hotel. MUNGU MBELE!!!” he exclaimed, emphasizing his deep connection with the Kenyan people.
The NCBOC, a non-governmental, non-profit organization founded in 2005, brings together grassroots organizations and currently boasts over 52,000 registered Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) nationwide.
The organization aims to empower local communities through collaborative efforts and has been at the forefront of recognizing and honoring individuals like Eric, whose work makes a tangible difference.
Eric’s philanthropic initiatives have left a lasting impact across various communities in Kenya. One of his most significant accomplishments is the completion of the Kisii Bridge, also known as the Baby Kemunto Bridge, which has helped improve transportation and access for local residents.
But his efforts don’t stop there. Under his Sisi Kwa Sisi movement, Eric has spearheaded two other monumental projects that have furthered his mission of uplifting vulnerable communities.
The first project is the construction of a modern health clinic in a remote village in Western Kenya, providing vital medical services to underserved populations.
The clinic is equipped with essential facilities such as a maternity ward, pediatric care, and general healthcare services, helping reduce the number of preventable deaths in the area.
The second project involves the establishment of a community-based agricultural initiative that aims to empower farmers through training, access to better farming tools, and sustainable practices.
