The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has approved charges against several allies of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, following accusations of planning and financing anti-government protests.

Among those facing charges are MPs Benjamin Gathiru Mwangi (Embakasi Central) and James Mwangi Gakuya (Embakasi North), along with three aides of DP Gachagua: George Theuri, Martin Deric Ngunjiri Wambugu, and Pius G. Munene.

The case stems from allegations that the group was involved in organizing and funding activities aimed at destabilizing the government. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has been investigating the claims, and with the DPP’s approval, legal proceedings are expected to commence soon.

This development is likely to spark political tension as the case unfolds. Stay tuned for more updates on this ongoing story.
