In a shocking turn of events, thirteen inmates, including the prime suspect in the Kware murders, Collins Jumaisi, have escaped from the Gigiri Police Station. The daring escape occurred early Tuesday morning, leaving authorities scrambling to track down the fugitives.

According to Nairobi Regional Commander Adamson Bungei, the escape was discovered around 5:00 a.m. when officers went to serve breakfast to the inmates. Among the escapees are twelve Eritrean nationals who were being held for illegal immigration.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Director Mohamed Ami confirmed the incident, stating that the inmates managed to cut through a wire mesh and scale the perimeter wall of the police station. “It is unfortunate this has happened, but we are pursuing the matter for action,” said Ami.

Collins Jumaisi, the main suspect in the gruesome Kware murders, was being held at Gigiri Police Station following a court order that extended his detention for further investigation. Jumaisi is accused of killing multiple women and dumping their bodies at a quarry within Pipeline Estate.

The police have launched a manhunt for the escapees and are urging the public to provide any information that could lead to their capture. Authorities have also assured the public that measures are being taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
