Social media influencer and socialite Faith Makau, popularly known as Amber Ray has sparked alot of criticism after her latest remark, “Mimi siwezani na biashara, nategemea wababa.” This translates to “I don’t want to do business, I rely on old men.”

In an interview with Plug TV Media, Amber Ray explained her stance on the Kenyan music industry, stating that it doesn’t offer the financial stability she desires. She revealed that while she had recorded a song with comedian Eric Omondi, it was just a fun project and not something she took seriously.

Amber Ray insisted that her expensive lifestyle cannot be supported by the earnings from the music industry in Kenya.

This is after she savagely responded to a fan who was advising her to start a business, like all other socialites. Amber Ray lost her temper and responded rudely, telling the fan that not everyone is good in business because for her, her food and everything usually come from men.
The fan had suggested that she start a makeup brand or any brand linked to beauty, citing her large number of loyal followers who could help her grow her business.

Amber Ray’s comments sparked a debate among her fans and the public, with many advising her that she should give it a try and not rely solely on her old men “wababa” support.

Despite the criticism, Amber Ray remains unapologetic about her views. She also mentioned that she spends around KSh 300,000 daily, sometimes exceeding her M-Pesa limit, further highlighting her lavish lifestyle.
