In a heartwarming display of solidarity, Kenyans have raised over Ksh 392,000 for Milka Tegisi, a woman from Mukuru Kwa Njenga who was publicly criticized by Pastor James Nganga after seeking help with her rent.
The viral video showed Tegisi tearfully explaining her situation, only to be dismissed by the pastor, who directed her to seek assistance from the police or the Nairobi City County Government.
Comedian and content creator Terrence Creative stepped in to pay three months’ rent and school fees for Tegisi’s son.
The online fundraiser, led by police officer Sammy Ondimu Ngare, has garnered significant support, with donations continuing to pour in.
Tegisi has since secured a job at Express Way Lounge along Mombasa Road, providing her with a fresh start.
