In a bold statement today, Majority Whip Silvanus Osoro declared that he has no intentions of apologizing for his stance on the Finance Bill 2024. Osoro emphasized that, despite the controversy and backlash, he would vote “yes” if the bill was presented in Parliament again.

Osoro expressed his respect for President William Ruto’s decision to withdraw the bill but made it clear that he did not agree with the move.

“I respect the president’s decision, but I believe the Finance Bill 2024 was necessary for our economic growth,” Osoro stated.

He reiterated that voting “no” was never an option for him, underscoring his commitment to the proposed legislation.

“The noise and insults directed at me will not deter my resolve. I stand by my decision and believe it was in the best interest of our country,” Osoro added.

This steadfast stance highlights the ongoing debate within the government regarding the Finance Bill 2024, reflecting differing opinions on the nation’s fiscal policy.

As the political discourse continues, all eyes will be on the next steps taken by the administration and Parliament.
