1: Access the iTax Portal

  1. Open your browser and go to the iTax portal.
  2. Log in using your KRA PIN and password. If you don’t have an account, you’ll need to register first by clicking on the ‘New Taxpayer?’ link and following the registration process.

2: Navigate to the Returns Section

  1. Once logged in, you will be directed to the iTax dashboard. Here, navigate to the ‘Returns’ menu located at the top of the page.
  2. Select ‘File Return’ from the dropdown menu.
  3. Choose the appropriate tax obligation, such as ‘Income Tax – Resident Individual’ for individual income tax returns.

3: Download the Return Form

5: Generate and Upload the Zip File

  3. Click on the ‘Submit’ button to file your return.

6: Confirmation and Acknowledgment

  1. After submission, you will receive an acknowledgment receipt. This receipt is proof that you have successfully filed your returns.
  2. Download and save this receipt for your records. It is important to keep this document in case you need to reference it in the future.
