Popular Kenyan comedian Henry Desagu is currently facing one of the critical moments of his life. Desagu is admitted at Mathare Mental Hospital undergoing treatment for severe depression, including Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT). His friends and family have launched a fundraising campaign to cover his medical expenses and support his recovery.
In a heartfelt appeal, Desagu’s family reached out to friends, family, and well wishers, asking for both financial and emotional support.
“We are reaching out to all of you for help. Desagu needs our support now more than ever, both financially and emotionally.
We want to ensure he gets the proper treatment he deserves and that he’s supported after his time in the hospital to rebuild his life,” they appealed.
The campaign, spearheaded by Gatundu North MP Elijah Kururia, aims to raise one million Kenyan Shillings to help cover the costs of Desagu’s treatment and ongoing care.
“We will not watch as this great boychild, Henry DeSagu, whose comedy brings laughter to all of us, is brought down by depression and alcoholism. We will pray for his recovery, have him get quality medical attention and get our lively Desagu back,” Kururia said.
Desagu’s condition has sparked concern among fans and fellow entertainers, who have expressed their support and urged the public to contribute to the fundraising efforts.
“Desagu needs our support now more than ever,” his family emphasized.
As Desagu begins his healing journey, his loved ones are calling on everyone to keep him in their thoughts and prayers. The road to recovery will take time, but with the collective support of his community, there is hope for a brighter future.
