In a heartwarming story that has captured the attention of many, Bruno Musumba recently took to Facebook to share the inspiring journey of his friend and night guard, Lepushirit, who hails from Samburu. The story began when Musumba discovered that Lepushirit had scored the same grade as him in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam. Touched by this revelation, Musumba decided to help Lepushirit achieve his dream of pursuing higher education.

With unwavering support, Musumba managed to secure a university admission for Lepushirit at KAG EAST University, where he will be starting his undergraduate degree in education. This achievement was made possible through the collective efforts of well-wishers who contributed to raising KSh 45,000 towards Lepushirit’s tuition and boarding fees.

Musumba’s Facebook post, which has since gone viral, read:

“🎉 Exciting News! 🎉 Remember my friend Lepushirit from Samburu, our dedicated night guard? He has finally received his university admission letter! Lepushirit is set to start his undergraduate degree at KAG EAST University. Thanks to your amazing support, we’ve raised 45k so far, but we need to reach 56k to cover his tuition and boarding fees.

…We’re also in the process of applying for HELB, but we need your help to get him started! Let’s ensure he can focus on his studies without financial worries. Attached are his admission letter and fee details. Watoto Wetu Tuwasomeshe! For this initiative, we opened an account for him. Keep the support coming!”

Musumba’s act of kindness has not only opened doors for Lepushirit but also sparked a wave of positive reactions from Kenyans. Many have praised Musumba for his generosity and commitment to ensuring that Lepushirit’s dreams of higher education become a reality. The overwhelming support from the public has been a testament to the power of community and the difference that can be made when people come together for a good cause.

As the fundraising efforts continue, with just KSh 11,000 needed to cover the remaining fees, Musumba and Lepushirit remain hopeful that they will reach their goal. The story of Lepushirit’s journey to university serves as a reminder of the importance of education and the impact that a helping hand can have on someone’s life.
